Entry is an exploration of how childhood memories of my family has shaped and influenced who I am today.

I photographically portray myself and my family in our domestic everyday spaces or in intimate situations that reveal the trust between us, such as my mom doing her hair and makeup in front of the mirror. I then combine the photographs with writing that about my memories that are evoked by that particular photograph. By weaving together photographs and words I am able to create a more complex and nuanced perspective of time, identity, and memory.  The decision to write by hand reflects my desire to personalize the story.  The handwriting itself creates a a sense of the tactile which is important  - mistakes are made which sometimes go uncorrected, which mirrors the unsteadiness of memory itself.
